An ongoing moving image work that speculates on the epistemology of a poetic quatrain. The work was a way to synthesis researches that Fyerool conducted from [prep-room] After Ballads and at NTU Center for Contemporary Art Singapore - where he looks into ways how oral traditions are cursories to the building of written knowledge systems.
It was selected by Tiago de Abreau for ArtViewer SCREEN in 2021, later the video was expanded into an installation to complicate the modes of knowledge and material production amidst the post-Image and post-Internet landscape.
The video work continues to expand and complicate the perimeters of authorship of pantun with continuing interlocutors.
Video above is updated as of 5 August 2023 at 8:35 AM EST time.
